Knite to remember as Coast dog groomer wins national comp

A Marcoola-based groomer is celebrating after winning Best in Show at the Australian Grooming Championships in Sydney.
Owner of Stylish Canine Shayla Knite Flew to Sydney to compete against 100 groomers and was elated to take out the win with her fur-baby.
"It's been a competition that I've been trying to win for many years, the last four years I've always been the runner up Australian champion," Mrs Knite said.
"So, to win with my own dog was just next level it made me very proud."
While the dog grooming industry looks to be a world of colourful bows and ribbons Mrs Knite said it is competitive.
"We go in with a hairy dog, we get two hours and then we have to groom in front of the judges," Mrs Knite said.
"One hair cannot be out of place everything has to be perfect.
"It's very high pressure and we are very limited for time, it's very, very tricky."
Mrs Knite said the highly competitive nature of dog grooming meant she had to give 100 per cent.
"You go in and try your best and I had great feedback from the judges, but you never know if you're going to win," Mrs Knite said.

Mrs knite said actions speak louder than words and she hopes her achievements will benefit her business.
"Ribbons and trophies within the grooming industry mean more than a piece of paper … this one proves that from the 50-100 groomers that were entered on that weekend we've done the best work which means we are the best groomer from that week," Mrs Knite said.
"Success like that means a lot more than a certificate or a piece of paper that says I can do certain things."
But the recent win isn't the mother-of-two's only success.
After persisting for 10 years, Mrs Knite managed to gather enough points from several competitions to be selected as a member of the Australian grooming team two years ago.
Being one of the top five groomers in Australia the successful groomer has earnt a ticket to the World Dog Grooming Championships in France.
"Next year, in May we will be travelling to France to represent Australia in the world dog championships so five of Australia's top groomers will be travelling to France."
