A popular Queensland bakery has proven it understood the assignment, revealing its ‘iconic’ take on a viral Bonds photoshoot starring Robert Irwin.

A popular Queensland bakery has proven they understood the assignment, revealing its hilarious take on a viral photoshoot.

The copycat photoshoot of Robert Irwin’s viral Bonds campaign was shared on social media by the Kenilworth Country Bakery last week, featuring “Jeff the baker’.

Posing in undies and Crocs, Jeff models a series of baked goods, rather than live reptiles, including the chocolate donut snake and sausage rolls.

The post shared to the bakery’s social media page described the photoshoot as “history in the making”.

“Sure, @robertirwinphotography looks great wrangling reptiles in his undies – but here at Kenilworth Bakery, we’ve got Jeff the Baker serving up the real Aussie hero moment… armed with a chocolate snake,” the post read.

“We might be biased… but Jeff definitely understood the assignment.”

Kenilworth Bakery founder, Jenna Sanders, said the bakery had been blown away by the photo-shoot’s popularity.

“It was decided that Dad was just as iconic as Robert, and after a bottle of red on Friday night Jeff agreed to strip off and showcase our snake donuts in his Bonds,” Ms Sanders said.

“With no chance to back out we had him in the car early Saturday morning and down to his jocks in a field beside a busy road. It was obviously quite the spectacle as cars were slowing down, one car almost went off the road.

“We were blown away by over 55,000 views within the first hour and it continued to grow with over 500,000 views in less than 8hrs. Currently sitting at 1 million views and climbing by the hour.”

The local community was quick to praise the popular bakery’s social media stunt.

“This is absolutely iconic,” one comment read.

Another commenter wrote “send this to GOMA”.

According to one bakery fan the photoshoot deserved to be turned into a calendar, with the bakery responding the suggestion was “going straight to the marketing meeting.”
