Jason Taylor replaces Hungry Feel with Argo in Buderim cafe scene
One of the Sunshine Coast’s most-loved breakfast spots has new owners and a new modern look, with a set of delicious lunch and dinner options now on the table. Take a look:

A salesman has taken his love of travel and people to follow a lifelong dream of opening his own restaurant in the heart of Buderim.
The ‘elegant’ new Argo was previously called Hungry Feel cafe, a haunt that was loved by many locals.
After moving to the Sunshine Coast four years ago Jason Taylor took over Hungry Feel just over a year ago and started to make small changes to freshen up the menu and the space.
He said he didn’t want to shock regulars with major changes so began small tweaks before Argo officially opened its doors at the end of January.
“We wanted to prove to the locals that we were going to exceed the quality and add extra hours and do all these things that would only better the restaurant,” Mr Taylor said.
Mr Taylor told the Sunshine Coast Daily the initial response from customers has been “fantastic” with a new crowd of families and younger foodies dining in.
Mr Taylor put “blood, sweat and tears” into the revamp of the venue while working with head chef Ryan Boyle on a fresh new menu.
“We got rid of the hedges out the front and all the clutter so it has very clean lines, we planted some nice stone gardens that are low so everyone can see us,” he said.
“I would describe it as occasional elegance.”
The breakfast, lunch and dinner options have all been curated to showcase dishes inspired by the travel destinations of Mr Taylor and Mr Boyle while also focusing on local produce.
“We have people that come for breakfast, lunch and dinner so it’s nice to have that point of difference between the three menus ... our dinner menu is a little bit more upmarket and elegantly plated but even our breakfasts are something to look at on the plate,” Mr Taylor said.
“People eat with their eyes and their mouths so we want to make sure that they have a feast as well.”
Argo is open from Wednesday to Sunday, offering dinner on Friday and Saturday nights.
Some of the menu options include elevated classics like eggs benedict and salads, while also offering more speciality cuisine like pork belly and seafood.
Mr Taylor’s new venture has allowed him to follow his passion of connecting with people and watching them enjoy good food.
“My enjoyment is seeing other people's pleasure when they eat, I like to take people on a little bit of journey when I’m describing the dishes and they seem to appreciate it,” he said.
