AN IMPENDING storm has seen off a sunny start to the day with heavy weather hurtling towards the Sunshine Coast.
Bureau of Meteorology radars show moderate to heavy weather approaching the region from the south west.
Maleny and Kenilworth were under the rain as it moved east about 10.30am.
Forecaster Dean Narramore said the region could expect showers and thunderstorms throughout the morning.
Conditions are expected to become fine this afternoon and into the evening.
