A popular entertainment precinct in a tourism suburb may welcome a new golf simulator with accompanying shop if plans are approved by council.
Pivotal Planning lodged an application with Noosa Shire Council on behalf of their client labelled as C Craven in documents.
The golf simulator has been proposed to be fitted in the 264sq m shop tenancy at 4 Sunshine Beach Rd, Noosa Heads in the Noosa Junction Hospitality Precinct.
The 8m high tenancy was previously occupied by a Commonwealth Bank branch.
Application documents state plans include three bays installed for the golf simulator at the rear of the store, and a golf shop and seating areas placed toward the front.
The golf shop is intended to actively “engage” with the street and the simulators will run with a “similar intensity” to a bowling alley.
Documents state one participant will use the simulator and then wait for each turn.
It has been assured the simulators would not generate noise like a gym would, and it will not be heard beyond the walls.
Documents state the golf shop and simulator would not negatively impact the area and no restrictions on opening hours are required.
It has been declared in documents the purpose of the proposed business is “well located” in the Noosa Junction Hospitality Precinct, which supports live entertainment, bars, nightclubs, cinemas, markets and other nightlife activities.
Documents state restaurants, a Subway and Noosa Junction Shopping Centre are in proximity to the site of the proposed golf simulator.
