Hyatt golf land teed up for sale

A controversial 660 unit residential development on the current Hyatt golf course at Coolum has been released for sale.

A controversial 660 unit residential development on the current Hyatt golf course at Coolum has been released for sale.

Lend Lease announced the official release of ‘Belle Mare at Beachside’ yesterday, a development which will be constructed at five existing holes of the Hyatt Regency Golf Course east of David Low Way.

It comes more than two years after residents rallied against Lend Lease in a lengthy battle to stop the project.

A spokeswoman from Lend Lease confirmed yesterday the latest offering of land was the current location of five holes of the Hyatt Golf Course that will be relocated later this year.

She said the packages of land, which start from $370,000, is in an “off plan sales” basis only, which means prospective buyers can only view lots by looking at plans.

Would be buyers cannot currently physically visit the site.

“Construction will not commence on Belle Mare until the new holes are completed,” she said.

Five new golf holes will be constructed at the Yaroomba resort.

A date has not been set for the completion of the new golf course additions.

However the Lend Lease spokeswoman said it would be open to the public in time for the Australian PGA tour in December this year.

Residents appealed against the development in 2007 protesting against the “isolated” approval for one section of a master plan project.

Other arguments included concerns for remnant rainforest and that the project would stagnate the Hyatt vision.

Lend Lease describe ‘Belle Mare at Beachside’ as a “unique mix of beach, golf and resort style living.”

Land allotments range in size from 404m2 to 824m2.
