THIS Coast gym is among one of the nation's best places to work thanks to its strong focus on building relationships between trainers and members.

The Australian owned Jetts Fitness has placed 23rd in the 2017 Best Places to Work Study by Great Places to Work Australia - a global research organisation which specialises in workplace excellence.

Leigh Baker has been the Jetts Maroochydore club manager for five years and said it's not just the staff that make his workplace great, but the clients.

"I suppose it's the clientele that makes it an easy place to work, because of the people you see every day,” he said.

"If you weren't enjoying their company it would make it a not so pleasant place to be.”

Mr Baker, who has six trainers working under him, said the team's strong relationship extends far beyond the gym's walls with a good culture developed through connections with co-workers and gym goers.

"Not only do we work together, but we also socialise together externally,” he said.

Jetts Fitness CEO Elaine Jobson said the company was defined by the principle that happy trainers translate to happy members.

"It's very rare for a gym to receive a Great Place to Work Award and equally uncommon for an Australian home-grown franchise,” she said.

"This award recognises you don't need the flashiest office or the fanciest toys to have a great team culture.”

Jetts Maroochydore is one of 214 across Australia and joins 57 centres in New Zealand, four in the Netherlands and two in Thailand.
