Police previously said in a statement several key alleged offenders were targeted which were believed to be unlicensed weapons holders or involved in firearm theft, modification and supply, as well as drug supply and property offences.

Mr Johnston briefly appeared at the bar table on Thursday and asked for an adjournment in order to find a lawyer to represent him.

He told magistrate Catherine Benson he had already set up an initial appointment at a law firm.

His matter was adjourned to November 14.

Ms Benson then read out an email to the court sent by Mr Brooker to excuse his absence.

He wrote in the email he could not travel to court from Gympie as his car had been stolen, despite efforts of attempting to get a lift.

His matter was also adjourned to November 14.

No pleas have been entered.
