One of the last vacant blocks in a Sunshine Coast industrial precinct could soon become home to several businesses after a development application was lodged with the council by a group of prominent Coast businessmen.

The Page Street block at Kunda Park is one of the last undeveloped blocks in the area but a former ironman has launched a bid for a new industrial offering.

Application documents tendered to Sunshine Coast Council by GK Invest Co. Pty Ltd and Professional Developments Pty Ltd include designs for two new buildings which will house more than 20 businesses.

The venture is being driven by Grant Kenny, the director of GK Invest Co and Ian Hartland and Jeff Le Marseny of Professional Developments.

Mr Hartland and Mr Le Marseny are also co-owners of the 7842 sqm site.

Mr Hartland's company, Karloo Constructions, is known for their industrial developments including Heads of Noosa and multiple builds in the Aura Industrial Estate.

The application submitted to the council seeks a material change of use for low impact industry as well as a permit for operational works for civil and landscaping.

The application proposes the development of 26 tenancies to be housed in two separate buildings.

Site access will be from Page Street with 47 carparking spaces to be provided in the middle of the site.

An additional 21 motorcycle parks and 26 bicycle parks will be provided.

According to the plans, the overall height of the proposal is about 7.4m.

Mr Hartland told the Daily the application had only just been submitted to the council.

"They're small units we're going to put on the market to sell," he said.

"We're just waiting to hear back from council to make sure everything's OK and then we can start marketing it."

Mr Hartland said he was pleased with the location of the site.

"It's in a good spot," he said.

"There's a pretty big demand for those sort of products."

The application has been deemed code-assessable with no public notification or consultation required.
