Residents of a growing Sunshine Coast suburb could have a brand-new golf simulator right around the corner, offering membership perks and catering for corporate events.

Adams and Sparkes Town Planning lodged an application with Minister of Economic Development Queensland to establish a golf simulator business on behalf of Golf Mates HQ.

It is proposed the facilities would take up a tenancy at 5 Edison Crescent, Baringa within an approved building currently holding no other tenants.

The application states each of the four entertainment booths would house a golf simulator and television screen with a maximum capacity of four people, catering for individuals, groups and corporate events.

The remainder of the floor will be taken up by seating areas as well as an office space.

Documents revealed the business would offer yearly membership tiers with members being able to make bookings outside of public hours.

Member’s exclusive hours are proposed to run from 5.30am to 4.30pm when the site is unstaffed, with 24/7 access via swipe cards available for members.

During member hours, only one person per booth is permitted.

Visitors from the general public will be able book sessions between 4.30pm and 9pm on weekdays and 8am to 5pm on weekends, documents state.

It is proposed the facility can be booked out for events on Friday evenings and weekends with a capacity of 50 guests.

The proposed site is directly surrounded by recently constructed industrial buildings and vacant land, with the nearest residential street located 430m away, documents state.

The building shares 19 car park spaces, five of which are allocated to the proposed business.

Documents state the commercial premises were previously approved for service industry hardware and trade supplies by Economic Development Queensland.
