ANGLERS can once again throw out a line for finfish throughout Fraser Island, with the lifting of the annual fishing closure in place in some areas of the island.
Queensland Boating and Fisheries Patrol district manager Greg Bowness said the two-month closure lifted at noon on Sunday was to help the fish breeding cycle.
"During the closure, an area between Indian Head and Waddy Point was closed to the taking of all finfish," Mr Bowness said.
