Firefighters battled a fierce blaze that tore through a Currimundi home late Saturday night, destroying two cars and causing significant damage.
Emergency crews were called to Perindi Chase about 11pm following reports of a house fire.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said five fire crews responded, with the first arriving at 11.02pm.
“The single-storey home, about 30 by 40 metres, was well involved in fire,” the spokeswoman said.
Firefighters located the source of the blaze in the garage, where two vehicles were also engulfed in flames.
It was reported no one was inside the home at the time, and crews managed to bring the fire under control by 11.40pm before working to extinguish remaining hot spots.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman confirmed officers attended the scene, with an investigation into the cause of the fire now underway.
