Sunshine Coast Rugby League has unveiled its representative Falcons men’s and women’s squads for the upcoming 47th Battalion Shield.
The two-day carnival will take place on the long weekend of May 1 and 2 in Bundaberg.
It is the shield’s 50th instalment, adding extra prestige to the tournament.
All of the regular Sunshine Coast teams in Stanley River, Caboolture, Beerwah, Gympie, Nambour, Caloundra, Kawana, Noosa and Maroochydore are represented.
This year, the winner of the shield will face off with the winner of the Foley Shield (Queensland’s northern winner) in a semi final on June 19.
The winner will progress to the grand final where they will meet the victory of the Chairman’s Challenge (southeast) who automatically qualify for the final.
Queensland Rugby League community rugby league manager Glenn Ottaway said the new representative format would help raise the profile of local league competitions.
The below teams may be subject to injury.
