The Fair Work Ombudsman will take a Sunshine Coast based building company to court next month, in an attempt to have the company officially struck-off.
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission documents revealed the building company, Design Wolf Solutions Pty Ltd, directed by Sunshine Coast man Brenton John Bound, was currently subject to a strike off action notice.
The company began trading from Bli Bli in June 2019, according to the documents.
An ASIC notice published on July 24 stated the Fair Work Ombudsman had commenced wind up proceedings against the company on June 26, 2024.
The strike-off action notice comes one year after the Fair Work Ombudsman fined Design Wolf Solutions $25,000 and Mr Bound $5000 for contravening an order to back-pay a former employee.
The matter involved an adult apprentice who had not been paid the correct annual leave entitlements by Mr Bound during his employment between August 2020 and May 2021.
According to the Fair Work report, which was published in July last year, Mr Bound and the company failed to calculate the amount owed to the apprentice and reimburse him.
The report stated Judge Salvatore Vasta found there had been a complete failure on behalf of Mr Bound and the company to resolve the payment issue with Fair Work.
“The behaviour of both respondents has been to treat the Compliance Notice with utter contempt,” Judge Vasta said.
The Queensland Building and Construction Commission lists Mr Bound as currently holding no building licence.
Mr Bound has been contacted for comment.
