A former Finks bikie has been sent back to prison after a search warrant on his Sunshine Coast hinterland home uncovered his steroid stash.

Maroochydore Magistrates Court heard on Monday how Jacob Graham Stanes was on a return-to-prison warrant after breaching his parole for his illegal stash of prohibited drugs found by police.

Stanes, a former Finks bikie club treasurer, made headlines in recent years after he was jailed for his part in a Gold Coast-based $1.4 million boiler room fraud.

Stanes pleaded guilty to fraud following his part in a shonky “cold call” investment business. He did not start the cold call business but worked for it for nine months’ despite knowing it was dodgy.

He was jailed for three years.

Police prosecutor Tara Miles said officers executed a search warrant at the Palmview man’s home about 3.30pm on Sunday.

Senior Constable Miles said there was an outstanding arrest warrant out for the 31-year-old.

The court heard detectives uncovered a black plastic clip seal bag case during a search which had a package containing 10mg of a steroid, which was a schedule one dangerous drug.

Duty lawyer Michael Robinson said the Palmview man, who normally worked as a concreter, was on a return-to-prison warrant and had “bigger fish to fry”.

Mr Robinson estimated the Palmview man’s full time release date to be next year and said Stanes would have to sort his release with the parole board.

The solicitor said it was an unknown quantity of drugs found but submitted for a fine.

Stanes pleaded guilty to possessing dangerous drugs and was fined $400 by magistrate Rod Madsen.
