Emergency crews use hydraulic gear to free man from Tanawha crash

A dramatic rescue operation is underway after a man became trapped in his vehicle following a serious crash near the Bruce Hwy.

One man is trapped after a car collided with a tree near the Bruce Hwy on the Sunshine Coast.

Emergency crews rushed to Sippy Creek Rd, Tanawha about 3.20pm on Sunday afternoon after receiving reports of a single vehicle crash into a tree.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said crews arrived shortly after 3.45pm and were using hydraulic gear to help free one person trapped in the vehicle.

It is believed a second person self-extracted themselves from the car.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics were assessing one man in his 20s with a head injury.
