Child flown to hospital after serious Conondale crash
A young girl has suffered life-threatening injuries after the car she was in fell 50m down a steep embankment in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

A young girl has been flown to hospital with “life-threatening” injuries after emergency crews rescued two children from a car that plummeted down a steep embankment on Broken Bridge Rd in Conondale on Sunday morning.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said the first crew arrived at the scene at about 9.10am and confirmed the vehicle had fallen about 50 metres down the embankment.
Crews descended the embankment to conduct a thorough search and assess the situation before extracting the children from the vehicle
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a primary school-aged girl sustained “significant” head, pelvic, facial, and leg injuries and was flown to Queensland Children’s Hospital.
A four-year-old boy suffered minor injuries and was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
Initial reports suggested a woman was also in the car, but a QAS spokeswoman confirmed that only the two children were occupants.
