A Sunshine Coast billionaire has officially set a record-shattering price for his waterfront mansion, six months after it first hit the market.

The Cypress CT mansion in Minyama was listed for sale for the first time back in December last year, according to property data, inviting expressions of interest from prospective buyers.

However, an updated property listing posted on Thursday stated billionaire owner Mal Pratt would now accept offers for the waterfront mansion in excess of $25m.

Mr Pratt, a well-known, successful Sunshine Coast developer, first bought the 2083sq m block in 1995 for $950,000, according to property data.

He then built the existing home, which boasts a total of 94sq m of Mooloolah River frontage, to closely resemble a beachside resort.

The property includes a sprawling five-bedroom, four-bathroom home equipped with a 25m solar heated lap pool with a bridge across it, a gallery/multipurpose room and a four-car lockup garage.

As it stands, Mr Pratt’s resort-style home will break Sunshine Coast property sale records if it goes for the asking price.

The most expensive home sale on the Sunshine Coast to date is 24 Box St in Buderim which sold for $17.1m in August 2021, according to property data.

Real estate agent Craig Morrison previously told this publication Mr Pratt, who is known for a number of high-profile developments including the Kon-Tiki and La Balsa business centres, was intending on remaining in the region after the sale.
