SOME will shave their long flowing locks, others will dye their manly beards pink.
No matter the method, the Mooloolaba community will come together on March 16 to help beat blood cancer.
The Leukaemia Foundation's World's Greatest Shave aims to eliminate the disease that an Australian is diagnosed with every 41 minutes.
Community supporter coordinator Jess Brown said the event allows the community to feel they're making a difference.
"It's so easy to be overwhelmed these days with all the things you can't do,” she said.
"I can't do the research, I can't do the treatments, but what we can do is raise awareness and the funds to help the Leukaemia Foundation offer their amazing support services.”
Miss Brown said residents diagnosed on the Coast often have to relocate to Brisbane immediately for treatment, with accommodation costing upwards of $80 a day.
"If one person signs up and all they can raise is $80, that's still one night they've secured for somebody so it's incredible.,” she said.
Charlie Silcock will be shaving his beard and is ready to be bare faced for the first time in 45 years.
He said "with the amount of people that leukaemia and blood disorders affect” he "wanted to create more awareness in the community”.
The event will be on March 16 at the Mooloolaba Surf Club from 9am-midday.
