Grenny's Restaurant bosses Grenville and Amanda Duckworth will have their final shift later this month as they help new owners take over their business of 39 years.
Mr Duckworth, who recently celebrated his 70 birthday, said he was looking forward to hanging up his chef hat.
"We were in Hastings Street for 12 years before moving and this is now our 27th year along Gympie Terrace," he said.

"It's been an absolute pleasure to serve our ongoing loyal customers and even those who just pop in every now and again."
Mr Duckworth said a lot had changed since he first opened his doors in 1982.
"It used to be a lot smaller, almost like a village and everyone would get along really well with everyone else," he said.
"It was a lot slower paced and when I first moved the shop here (Noosaville) this river used to be a jungle.
'They've done a really good job with it all and this view is something I'm deeply going to miss."
He said he and Amanda were looking forward to doing some travelling.
"It's an opportunity to spend more time with my family and Amanda and myself are just excited to be free to travel," he said.
"It's definitely a sad time but we've all got to move on some time and I'd rather leave now while I can before going out in a wooden box."
All 11 of Grenny's current staff are set to keep working under the new owners.
"It's been one of the biggest joys of my life coming into work each day," he said.
"I've enjoyed cooking and I've enjoyed treating my customers but now I'm looking forward to this next chapter."
