A COMMUNITY appeal against a service station development has been allowed more than two years after being lodged.

Coast developer Mal Pratt's company Surfing World Sunshine Coast gained Sunshine Coast Council approval to build a service station and two fast food outlets at David Low Way 2016.

It sparked a community-funded appeal on which judgment was handed down in Maroochydore District Court today.

About 20 residents were in the room for the decision.

Judge Gary Long said reasons for his decision would be published.
