Community mourns shock death of hairdresser Taleah Hayes

A gathering to remember the life of a much-loved Sunshine Coast mother and hairdresser has been planned as loved ones and the wider community reels from her sudden death.

A celebration to remember the life of a much-loved Sunshine Coast mother and hairdresser has been planned as the community shares their grief over her shock death.

On Wednesday, Maleny hair salon Nellie’s Creative Hair Design shared a post on social media remembering one of their hairdressers, Taleah Hayes, along with the message, “we love you for eternity”.

Ms Hayes suddenly died on Friday, July 11.

The 40-year-old mum-of-two worked as a hairdresser as well as a hairdressing teacher at Horizons College on the Sunshine Coast.

A flyer also shared on social media stated a celebration of Ms Hayes’ life would be held at the Beerwah Sportsgrounds at midday on Sunday, August 3.

The news triggered an outpouring of grief, with many customers of Ms Hayes posting tributes describing her as the “most beautiful soul”.

“Sending sincerest condolences to you all at this extremely saddening, heartbreaking news,” one comment read.

“My thoughts are with you all, and also for Taleah’s family. She touched our hearts with her beautiful, vibrant and positive personality and nature. I am so sorry for your loss.”

“I’m absolutely devastated and in shock. Taleah was the sweetest and most beautiful soul I’ve ever met. I will miss her so much,” another wrote on social media.

Another said they were “heartbroken” after hearing the news.

“Heartbroken at the loss of this precious being, no words, just love and strength to your boys and family my friend.”
