A Sunshine Coast painting and plastering company has collapsed owing approximately $490,000 to creditors, including hundreds-of-thousands in Australian Taxation Office debt.

Australian Security and Investments Commission documents show the company, Curran Coatings Pty Ltd, was first registered in September 2019 by the director, Bryce Curran.

The company voluntarily entered liquidation on May 24, 2024, appointing Paul Nogueira from Worrells as liquidator to wind the company up.

Curran Coatings, which the documents show operated from Caloundra West, specialised in painting and plastering on the Sunshine Coast.

Mr Nogueira said the company had ceased trading shortly before his appointment and had a “handful” of employees at the time.

According to the ASIC documents published on June 18, the company has a total of nine known creditors with an estimated debt of $490,109.

The largest debts are to the ATO, including $306,963 in insolvencies and a further $104,013 in superannuation.

Among the other non-related creditors are National Australia Bank, Haymes Paint and Khaos Property Pty Ltd.

Mr Nogueira said he was continuing investigations into the company and any transactions or payments made prior to the liquidation.

“I am gathering information on the financial affairs of the company and my next report will provide my investigation findings,” Mr Nogueira said.
