KAWANA Waters State College is leading the way in pathways for students interested in pursuing health related careers.
As a school passionate and driven by students being successful after they have graduated, options are endless for their health nuts.
Two simulated hospital wards similar to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital are what sets the college apart, as students are able to gain valuable hands-on experience in their chosen fields.
Kawana Waters State College deputy principal Brett Allan said their students are unmatched when they venture out into the real world.
"Universities are saying the kids that are going to them are enthusiastic, they're passionate, they've got some skills and aren't going to them green and raw,” he said.
The college held an event on March 5 where over 100 health businesses attended to check out the Health Ed Unit's facilities.
Parents along with professionals were given a tour of the unit and witnessed students performing health skills they had learnt.
Mr Allan said it was a great opportunity to create partnerships with the school and health businesses to better improve their stellar pathways.
"We're working with industry to really ensure we make sure our kids are leaving not just with a piece of paper, but with genuine and authentic qualifications and are skill ready,” he said.
Health professionals are eager to keep tabs on the students throughout their university journeys in order to offer them employment, Mr Allan said.
The college also provides the dual offering of a Certificate II in Health Support Services and a Certificate III in Basic Health Care, with a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance added this year to expand students' knowledge.
