A SUNSHINE Coast boxing coach has stood down temporarily as Boxing Queensland president and faces the code's Australian tribunal over "serious" allegations.
Mark Evans, coach of Impact Boxing Academy in Cooroy, will front the Boxing Australia tribunal in coming weeks.
Boxing Australia CEO Josh O'Brien would not comment on the details of the allegations, but said they were serious.
"I am not prepared to divulge into the accusations but we are dealing with the matter," Mr O'Brien said.
"It only recently came to light in the last two weeks, so we are starting to address this."
Mr O'Brien will head the panel.
"We will collect our statements and he will go before the three-person panel," he said.
He said Mr Evans volunteered to stand down.
"We haven't had to suspend him or anything but he has taken a step back," he said.
Multiple attempts have been made to contact Mr Evans.
