AN OPPORTUNITY to rid your closet of unwanted clothes with a deeper message is coming to Aerodrome Rd.

Rise Chiropractic owners Caroline de Groot and Derek Silva are passionate about hosting events to bring the community closer.

The pair decided a clothes swap would be the perfect excuse for those wanting to declutter their closets and meet like-minded people.

Chiropractor Dr de Groot said the inspiration for the event came from the popular Netflix series, Tidying Up with Marie Kondo.

"With the whole Marie Kondo movement of simplistic living being so successful, we wanted to encourage people to let go of things that are no longer bringing them joy,” she said.

Dr de Groot said the clothes swap was not just about discarding old garments.

"Our goal at Rise Chiropractic is for people to lead lives of infinite potential and to elevate them in every way possible,” she said.

"Community events like the clothes swap will help people achieve that through them getting rid of items that don't serve them any more.”

Dr de Groot said left-over clothes from the event would be donated to a nominated, nearby op shop.

"We wanted to give back to our community, also to a really worthy cause.”

The clothes swap will be on June 22 from 10am-1pm.
