AUSTRALIA’S tallest travelling portable ferris wheel is being welcomed back to Caloundra next week.
The giant attraction, known this year as the Hot 91 ferris wheel, will provide 360-degree views of Caloundra, the Coast’s hinterland and the ocean from its 35 metre peak.
It features 9000 lights, 24 gondolas and can seat up to 144 people.
Division two councillor Terry Landsberg said it would provide a boost to businesses and tourism across the region.
“Last year people were lining the footpaths to get a seat on the wheel, and its stay had to be extended to meet demand,” he said.
It will be located at Bulcock Beach, The Esplanade, from June 26 to August 16.
Trailers will arrive this weekend and set-up will start on Monday. Tickets are $10 each or $30 per gondola. Visit www.skyline attractions.com.au/events.
