Emergency crews are rushing to the scene of a crash on a major Sunshine Coast thoroughfare.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said crews were called to the Sunshine Mwy, Coolum Beach, to reports of a car crashing into a truck.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the crash was a nose-to-tail with one occupant in each vehicle.

She said the truck driver had no injuries, and the driver of the car, a woman in her 50s, was being assessed in leg pain.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the crash was in the southbound lanes near the Coolum Beach exit, and there were no initial reports of entrapments or major injury.

More to come.
