A WARANA mum of four is taking cancer research funding in her stride.
Cassie Taylor-Gibson has pledged to walk 200km and raise $520 for the Cancer Council's March Charge.
The campaign is a personal fitness challenge encouraging participants to walk or run at their own pace for cancer awareness.
After witnessing her mother-in-law being diagnosed with breast cancer twice, Mrs Taylor-Gibson decided to make a difference.
"I started looking at the statistics and realised they're pretty high, that one in two people will be diagnosed with cancer before they're 85, so it could be anyone,” she said.
"It could be me or my husband, two out of four of my kids, so the sooner we can find a cure for cancer the better.”
With four kids under the age of five, Mrs Taylor-Gibson said it's been "hard and difficult” to fit in her steps, but she "finds a way”.
Cancer Council Queensland CEO Chris McMillan said they "are incredibly grateful to all who've registered to take part in March Charge, and encourage the community to get behind the efforts of local fundraisers”.
