The manufacturer of one of the world’s most outstanding aquariums has been announced as the 2021 winner of the Sunshine Coast Business Awards.
Kunda Park-based Advanced Aquarium Technologies, which has delivered its work in more than 25 countries, took out the top gong as well as best export and construction business awards.
“International work is what we do. It’s what we live, eat and breathe and you can do it from Kunda Park. How cool is that,” the company’s head of corporate affairs and marketing Tim Eldridge said while accepting one of the awards.
“None of us would be here if it wasn’t for our employees so it would be appropriate for me to close this up by saying thank you to everyone who works for Advanced Aquarium Technologies all over the world and also to the employees of all of these award winners because they are the backbone of all of our companies.”
More than 850 people gathered at the Novotel to celebrate the best of business on the Sunshine Coast on Saturday.
Up to 187 businesses entered the award this year and judges read more than 1 million words as part of the applications.
Awards chair Jennifer Swaine thanked all involved, including judges, businesses, volunteers and sponsors.
“The Awards are reliant on sponsorships to ensure we can deliver the program throughout the year, leading to our Gala Awards Celebration in November, and we are delighted to have so much support from our sponsors this year, including the addition of naming sponsor, LPE,” she said.
COYO and Kangaroo Bus Lines were inducted into the Hall of Fame.
