The opening of Caloundra's newest cafe, White Picket Fence, was everything owners Adam Gaudion and Caity Dewar said they had hoped for.

The duo opened the doors to their latest foodie offering on the bottom end of Bulcock St over the weekend.

Mr Gaudion, the former chef at Beau's at Kings Beach, said there was a buzz returning to Bulcock St and they wanted to be apart of it.

"We loved the history of the building and the fact that it used to be a nursery and we wanted to bring something that Caloundra hadn't seen before," he said.

"I'm guilty of it. I get straight in the car and drive to Maroochydore, Cotton Tree, Mooloolaba to go out for breakfast and so we wanted to bring something great to Caloundra.

"Something relaxed, with good vibes."

White Picket Fence is one of several new businesses to open its doors on Bulcock St.

"We find the bottom end of this street has the potential to become really creative," he said.

"We have the new yoga studio across the road, the new Rawr shop front is opening and it will be interesting to see what else pops up."

Before they had even finished painting the cafe, the duo said they had been inundated by requests from people looking for a job.

"We probably had about 400 resumes come in, which is pretty insane," he said.

"It was pretty hard to filter through, but we have everyone we need now."

Mr Gaudion said the cafe was just stage one of their plan and they had intentions to expand in the future.

"We've only utilised half the block so we are planning on putting an outdoor beer garden in," he said.

"We are thinking mid next year and it will be Thursday to Sunday, there will be live music and we want to bring that food truck scene here."
