A $40 MILLION aged care facility in Maroochydore's heart is tipped to create 150 jobs, with 30 of those already in the recruitment stage.

National company Estia Health is in the final stages of constructing the 126-bed, double-storey aged care home complete with hairdressing salon, in-house cinema, private dining room and cafe.

The facility is due to open to permanent and short-term respite aged care residents on August 26, and will expand Estia's Sunshine Coast footprint which includes facilities in Twin Waters, Mt Coolum and Nambour.

It will increase their national presence to 69 facilities.

Estia advise the facility will also meet demand for people living with dementia by providing an 18-bed memory support unit to deliver a "safe and supportive environment”.

Other highlights include daily lifestyle activities, consultation rooms for visiting health professionals and a well-equipped kitchen with a qualified chef and catering team serving freshly cooked and nutritious meals.

Ms Hoey said while the team would eventually grow to 150 employees, they were currently focused on securing team members to care for the first residents.

"This includes recruiting an experienced team of registered nurses, who will be on site 24-seven and led by the home's care director,” Ms Hoey said.

Ms Hoey has opened five Estia homes and brings with her 20 years' experience as a registered nurse.

"I know how important this clinical team is, and we are taking the time to make sure we have the right mix of dedicated and compassionate carers that share Estia's values,” she said.

Estia is located in Sunshine Cove, close to the town centre and Sunshine Plaza.

The facility will include daily lifestyle activities, consultation rooms for visiting health professionals and a well-equipped kitchen with qualified chef.
