A lucky selection of the Sunshine Coast are set to get a glimpse into the culinary creations "ahead of the game" that are being rolled out in Melbourne.
Glass Coffee House at Cotton Tree will host a special two-night event showcasing the cuisine of Asian fusion "wizard" Ryo Northfield.
Owner of the Glass Coffee House, Mitch Surman, came up with the idea to bring the Melbourne influences to the Coast for two nights, Friday and Saturday of this week.
Mr Surman said given the growth of Maroochydore on the back of the new CBD, it could be a glimpse into the region's future for dining.
"Melbourne is so ahead of the game when it comes to food and hospitality," Mr Surman said.
"Hospitality is really treated as a career down there.
"I think we have an exciting chance to see what they do so well."

Mr Northfield, a chef who specialises in Asian fusion, started out in French cooking but has since merged it with his Japanese heritage.
"My style now is a Japanese and French creation," Mr Northfield said.
"People haven't really ever combined these together but they really say wow when they see it."
Head chef at Glass Coffee House, Jonny Parkinson, learnt the game under his good friend Mr Northfield.

"Ryo is amazing, a wizard," Mr Parkinson said.
"He is where I got the confidence to learn how to use different ingredients, different methods and really push myself more.
"A lot of the recipes I still use today are things that I learnt off him and just tweaked."
Mr Parkinson said some of Ryo's concepts would remain on the Coast.
"The Sunshine Coast tends to be a few years behind Melbourne when it comes to food trends," Mr Parkinson said.
"So that's why we thought it would be cool to bring Ryo up here.
"Asian fusion has started to explode up here and that's what Ryo is famous for.
"But not just that, he mixes it up with other styles. There isn't anyone up here pushing the barrier like him."
Mr Surman said the feedback from those in Coast hospitality but also business had jumped at the chance to secure tickets.
Mr Surman said the response from the public had been overwhelming with both events selling out in rapid time.
"We are a bit limited with numbers from COVID so had to cap it at 20 inside and 20 outside, so 80 tickets sold all up," he said.
"People are calling up saying they're interested but we have to say sorry.
"Ryo is all about Asian fusion and he is the protégé of the Iron Chef, so he is super talented.
"I think it will be a good glimpse into the future for CBD food."
Glass will hold its showcase on Friday and Saturday, January 22 and 23
