A BELOVED member of Sea Life Sunshine Coast and a local tourism attraction has died.
Bella, a rescued Australian fur seal, died after a sudden decline in health, Sea Life Sunshine Coast said in a statement.
The 22-year-old seal died from natural causes surrounded by the dedicated veterinary and mammal team.
“We are devastated by the passing Bella, who at age 22 was one of the oldest seals here at Sea Life Sunshine Coast,” general manager Quinn Clarke said.
“Whilst we are sad she is no longer with us, we are glad that she has brought so much joy to staff and guests alike for so many years.”
Sea Life Sunshine Coast said it was grateful for the support of staff, visitors and the local community during the sad time.
