A Buddina entrepreneur who turned over nearly $9m with his dietetics empire is plotting a US expansion after securing major partnerships including with prominent businessman Gary Vaynerchuk.
Tyson Tripcony, 34, founded his largest business Fuel Your Life in 2016 which provides tailored diet and nutrition programs and advice for clients ranging from youth and elderly to professional athletes, NDIS recipients and veterans.
Mr Tripcony’s list of sporting clubs he’s worked with already includes Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Storm, Melbourne Victory and more recently with women’s NBA team the LA Sparks.
Mr Tripcony also entered an ongoing partnership with American entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk and has collaborated with his companies Vayner Media and The Sasha Group while receiving mentorship.
Gary Vaynerchuk is best known for his work in digital marketing and social media and has an estimated net worth of more than $200m.
Mr Tripcony said Mr Vaynerchuk’s team has helped him make key connections in the US to assist with the growth of Fuel Your Life in America and Australia.
“I think working with Gary, James Orsini (from The Sasha Group) and their team probably just showed us where we were doing really well from a staff and culture perspective, but also from our ability to quickly go from idea to execution,” Tripcony said.
“They helped give us confidence in that fact and to stay the course.
“It is a relationship that will be ongoing, and obviously a great person and company to be associated with as we continue to build, innovate and grow the business and explore new opportunities.”
Mr Tripcony began his career in the industry as a practising dietitian in Western Australia after graduating with a master of nutrition and dietetics at Griffith University in 2011.
Returning to the Sunshine Coast about 12 months later, he founded his first business Correct Nutrition which focuses on providing home-based nutrition consultations and plans.
Motivated to build on the success of his initial venture, the entrepreneur remortgaged his house to purchase Sunshine Coast Dietetics in 2015.
Fast forward to this year, the 34 year old currently owns six businesses with 65 staff and achieved a turnover of nearly $9m last year.
“I think what’s made us successful is that a lot of allied health companies try to do it all in one place whereas we just do dietetics,” Tripcony said.
“That focus allows us to improve and achieve at a much higher level and allows us to successfully collaborate with others.
“I believe though that the core of our success is the focus we put on our staff, the support and development we provide them and the ability that comes down to us being able to reverse engineer what a dietitian wants and a lot of them want growth to get the best results for their clients.”
Mr Tripcony acquired CQ Nutrition late last year to extend his reach across Central Queensland and now has more than 250 practices across all his businesses nationwide.
Fuel Your Life recently took out the championing health category at the 2022 Telstra Queensland business awards.
