The Sunshine Coast’s food truck operators regularly add extra flavour and spice to the many events held across the region, with many growing from humble beginnings.

Food trucks are a common fixture at markets, festivals, as well as corporate and private events.

Driven by passionate chefs fuelled by delivering flavoursome food, these mobile kitchens are often the life of the party.

In no particular order here are some of the best and most popular operators on the Sunshine Coast.

One World Food Truck

One World Food Truck is operated by an open minded chef driven by passion and providing food filled with flavour.

The on-wheel eatery is the brainchild of Jason Sierra, a creative chef of over 20 years.

While specialising in Spanish/Latin cuisine, Mr Sierra’s service lives up to its name and offers everything from Italian to Korean fare in the style of street food to grazing tables.

Based out of Palmview, One World Food Truck travels everywhere from north Brisbane to Gympie, servicing events including private functions, weddings and venues such as breweries.

Slow Smoke Barbecue is a Texas-themed barbecue food truck dishing out hearty wood-fired meals.

Founded by chef Luke Krefts, Slow Smoke Barbecue has evolved from a restaurant and market stall to become a popular food truck on the Sunshine Coast over the past five years.

The menu is highlighted by options such as slow cooked beef brisket, pork shoulders, smoked ribs, chicken wings, chicken schnitzels, barbecue box, burgers, nachos, and loaded fries.

Based out of Caloundra, the family-owned business offers fully mobile onsite catering services across the entire Sunshine Coast region, serving festivals, markets, and private events.

Good2Eat Catering

Good2EatCatering has quickly earnt a reputation that certainly lives up to its name.

Established in 2016 by husband and wife duo Simon and Jill Wallace, Good2Eat Catering is a renowned off-site catering operation on the Sunshine Coast.

Plating up delicious dishes out of a 6m kitchen contained within a 1995 school bus, Good2Eat Catering serves up an array of styles such as canapes and sliders to buffets, share-in platters, and grazing boards.

In addition to the food truck, Good2Eat Catering also offers a mobile bar.

Based out of Tanawha, Good2Eat Catering covers the Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Brisbane, and surrounding areas, servicing corporate events, conferences, private parties, and weddings.

Boasting an easy to remember name, Paco’s Tacos has become a popular Mexican street food vendor on the Sunshine Coast.

Operated by Mexican Francisco ‘Paco’ Gallardo, Paco’s Tacos started after he received positive feedback on his native cuisine from his wife’s Australian family.

In addition to his tacos prepared in the Baja California style, Mr Gallardo also serves popular Mexican street food including burritos and nachos made with fresh meat and vegetables.

The Paco’s Tacos food truck is commonly seen at markets and festivals across the Sunshine Coast, while booking for private events are also welcomed.

An early pioneer in the local food truck industry, Parma Street Food brings authentic Italian food to the streets of the Sunshine Coast.

Founded by Italian natives Simon and Francesca Grassani six years ago, Parma Street Food was established at a time when the market wasn’t ready for it.

Through hard work and dedication, the venture has gone onto become a great success, serving traditional Italian and modern Italian Fusion street food.

The business has earned a reputation for serving the most authentic pizza, pasta, and gelato, out of a food truck on the Coast.

Parma Street Food is available to hire for private catering events across the region.

That Pizza Guy is known for its mobile wood-fired pizza oven service on the Sunshine Coast.

Established by Simon Jones, That Pizza Guy has been serving quality wood-fired pizzas made from locally sourced ingredients over the past eight years.

In addition to pizzas, the eatery on wheels also serves wings, salads, grazing tables, gelato, and desserts.

Starting out of the 10 Toes Brewery at Alexandra Headlands, the operation now attends a host of local breweries, caravan parks, with the operation based out of the Headquarters restaurant at Glenview.

The operation is driven by three food trucks, including an old 1954 Ford vintage truck.

That Pizza Guy is available for hire at breweries, caravan parks, weddings, and private parties across the Sunshine Coast.

The Sunny Coast Ice Cream Co truck brings smiles to people’s faces wherever it is set up on the Sunshine Coast.

Owned by Kobi Bar, the Sunny Coast Ice Cream Co truck has been bringing handmade ice-cream, gelato, and sorbet to locations across the region for the past five years.

The ice-cream truck also contains a machine that is capable of making traditional shaved ice.

Primarily, the Sunny Coast Ice Cream Co services events at schools, as well as festivals.

A charitable business, Sunny Coast Ice Cream Co has also taken part in fundraisers, donating sales back to the organisers of the events the truck has attended.

An experienced caterer of corporate events and private dining, Sunny Rays Catering expanded its offering to include a food truck.

The company’s food truck contains a fully-functional mobile kitchen capable of serving hundreds of people at large public events.

The truck is serviced by staff that have experience working at events such as festivals, markets, and sporting events.

The service is adaptable to all events, with three menus to select from, as well as the option to customise menus to suit.

The Sunny Rays Catering food truck is available for hire across the region.

Motha Trucka Burger and Donut Kitchen is a popular Sunshine Coast food truck that has undergone a recent rebrand.

Originally known as the Donut Kitchen, the venture was founded by Jamie Loft eight years ago as a specialty donut store.

While still serving its trademark delectable sweet donuts filled with jams, chocolates, and custards, its recent rebranding reflects its offering, which has expanded to include burgers, fried chicken, and other street food.

Motha Trucka Burger and Donut Kitchen can be found at locations across the Sunshine Coast.

Yassou Greek Street Food

Food in the Greek culture means everything, which is why Yassou Greek Street Food is quickly becoming a food truck favourite on the Sunshine Coast.

Founded by husband and wife James and Chloe Demos, Yassou Greek Street Food serves authentic Greek cuisine.

Starting out with a 3m x 3m marquee in October 2022, the Caloundra locals have cooked at markets across the region, before recently acquiring a food truck.

Yassou Greek Street Food can be found at events across the Sunshine Coast.

Brunno’s Grill

A respected operator in the food truck scene, Brunno’s Grill serves traditional Brazilian barbecue food.

Founded by Brazilian native Brunno Oliveira, who stepped away from his career in accounts and finance to follow his passion, Bruno’s Grill has been dishing out Brazilian barbecue street food style food for the past year and a half.

Primarily serving food on skewers, Mr Oliveira cooks his food on the fire, to order, with all the meats sourced locally.

A favourite at the Marcoola Market on Fridays, Bruno’s Grill can also be found at breweries and events across the region.

Based out of Bli Bli, Brunno’s Grill serves the entire Sunshine Coast.

Mateo’s Pizzeria

A new operator on the scene Mateo’s Pizzeria has quickly earnt a reputation for its wood-fired pizzas.

Established in February by Mateo Kevric, the mobile pizzeria primarily serves authentic wood-fired pizzas in the Napoletana style.

The mobile catering business has worked at events for the Sunshine Coast Council, as well as at local caravan parks during the school holidays.

Mateo’s Pizzeria is available for hire for public and private events including birthdays, engagement parties, and weddings, across the Sunshine Coast.

Squidley’s Calamari

Squidley’s Calamari is a fish and chip shop on wheels that services the Sunshine Coast.

Operated by Jennifer Van Gemeren, the seafood truck serves homemade fish, chips, calamari, and salads.

People with specific dietary requests are also catered for with gluten-free and vegan options available.

The truck attends a variety of events like music festivals, rodeos, and has also served fresh fish and chips at the Noosa Show.

Based out of Cooroy, Squidley’s Calamari covers the entire Sunshine Coast and extends to Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Coco’s – Plant Powered offers a plant-based catering and coffee service on the Sunshine Coast.

Established by Courtney Overall, Coco’s Plant Powered was born from a desire to create a positive change in the world through delicious foods and drinks.

The organisation is able to offer a range of services including street food catering, buffet style catering, grazing tables, as well as a mobile coffee service.

The food truck is able to be set up at all sorts of events, including weddings, festivals, and corporate functions.

Iinaa Japanese Food

Iinaa Japanese Food is renowned for serving a specific Japanese dish across the Sunshine Coast.

Founded by Ryu ‘Jackson’ Kumabe in 2007, Iinaa Japanese Food has earnt recognition for serving Okonomiyaki, a savoury pancake dish that can be complemented with a wide variety of ingredients.

Occasionally, the menu will be modified to include meals such as noodles.

The Iinaa Japanese Food truck can be found regularly at the Marcoola and Eumundi markets, as well as the Caloundra Street Fair, while the truck occasionally pops up randomly at venues including breweries.
