Buderim dentists are brightening more than just smiles with a simple initiative that has coincidentally helped raise spirits during the past week of COVID drama.
Buderim Dental Surgery owner Dr Rene Nobrega said he hoped to ignite community spirit by handing out about 500 brightly-coloured badges to nearby businesses on Monday.
They had "be a rainbow in someone else's cloud" inscribed on them.
Dr Nobrega said message was to inspire people to assist others around them.
"If someone is having a tough day, just go and help them," Dr Nobrega said.

He said most businesses in his immediate area took the initiative on board.
"Most of them are wearing the badges which is really cool," he said.
He said the fact the badges were handed out just as Queensland's most recent COVID-19 outbreak took hold was coincidental.
"But ironically it worked well too," he said.
His staff on Thursday also delivered rainbow cakes made in Sippy Downs to 10 businesses.
"We are just trying to get people together," he said.
"It was mainly focused on 'let's get the community to help each other'."
