Traffic is flowing on the Bruce Highway after it was reduced to a standstill on Tuesday morning due to a van fire at the Sunshine Coast.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crew reported the van to be “totally involved in fire” near the Caloundra Road exit about 9am.
A QFES spokeswoman said the fire was extinguished by 9.10am.
She said the van fire also sparked a small grass fire, however, both were under control.
Queensland Police said the northbound lanes were blocked to allow fire trucks easy passage through.
One driver stuck in traffic south of the fire said he had been at a standstill for more than 15 minutes.
A Queensland Police Service statement said the scene was cleared by 10.30am but “residual” delays were to be expected.
