WITH record sales achieved at North Shore Oceanside Kawana, Salt at Oceanside, Waterline at Oceanside and Aquarius at Oceanside, RGD Group has launched a new waterfront apartment development in the Oceanside Health Hub.
Highlighting the strength of the Sunshine Coast market and increasing attention from national and international investors, 240 waterfront apartments adjacent to the new Sunshine Coast University Hospital, across four sites, have been sold by the RGD Group over the past 24 months.
Southbank at Oceanside, an 86-apartment waterfront development adjacent to the hospitals, new town centre and Southbank Park, features one, two and three-bedroom apartments and sky homes. It represents RGD Group's largest project in the Oceanside Health Hub to date and the last of the waterfront locations in the Birtinya precinct.
RGD Group is the largest developer and builder of apartments in the Kawana area. Their recent projects, with a combined value of $120million, sold out prior to completion.
Group managing director Ron Grabbe recognised the positive impact of the $2billion, 450-bed Sunshine University Hospital and the 200-bed Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital.
"On launching North Shore Oceanside Kawana in September 2015, we had great demand from astute investors and owner-occupiers from around Australia and overseas who saw the growth potential and convenience of owning waterfront property adjacent to these world class medical facilities.
"Much needed accommodation for thousands of hospital staff and visiting families is now a reality and our apartments are proving to be one of the healthiest investments available in Australia right now.''
Sunshine Coast mayor Mark Jamieson said that in the wake of the GFC Birtinya showcases where the region's future lies and the prosperity it generates.
"In 2011, who would have thought it possible to get to this stage. Things were looking challenging at that stage.
"Now, the health precinct is looking encouraging for us all. So much is happening in the shadow of hospital.
"It seems that each week there is something new from health and allied services to residential.
"This is a reminder that about one in five jobs on the Sunshine Coast are related to the development/construction sector.
