A heavily tattooed Caboolture man has been remanded in custody after being accused of fleeing a serious crash in the Mooloolah Valley in a stolen luxury car.
Benjamin Joel Henderson, 27, appeared briefly in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Wednesday after his arrest for the crash which put a woman in hospital.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said emergency services were called to a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Connection Rd and Old Gympie Rd about 2.30pm on Tuesday.
Police allege Henderson was travelling east along Connection Rd when the vehicle he was driving clipped another vehicle, which caused a head-on collision at the intersection.
The spokeswoman said the 27-year-old was allegedly driving a stolen grey Audi A3 at the time of the incident and fled the scene.
He was later arrested and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and failing to comply with the duties of a driver involved in a crash.
A 46-year-old Mooloolah Valley woman who was driving a black Haval in the crash was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with chest injuries.
The driver of a white Subaru Impreza, a 47-year-old Eudlo woman, was not injured.
In court on Wednesday, Henderson appeared by videolink from the Maroochydore watch-house, where duty lawyer Michael Robinson said there would be no application for bail.
The Caboolture man was remanded in custody and will next appear in court on October 2.
