WHILE fields are closed and balls can’t be kicked in the coronavirus pandemic, Sunshine Coast footballers are doing their best to keep fitness levels up.
Buderim Wanderers coach Damien Waugh said the senior squad had all been doing road runs on the Strava app and seriously “busting an arse”.
Waugh sent some of the “more ridiculous” times to the Sunshine Coast Daily showing the side’s dedication to the game.
Lachlan Muir ran along 20km along Coolum Beach at 4.36 minutes per km, Aidan Morris-Bullot ran 20km from Maroochydore to Minyama at 4.44 minutes per km while Jascha Bax ran 5km at 4.28 minutes per km.
“They’ve all been keeping reasonably fit and getting out on the road,” Waugh said.
“That Strava app is a great way to monitor everyone.
“I am just doing walks with the family my running days are over.
“But those times are pretty ridiculous.”
