A number of fraud allegations against a former Sunshine Coast NDIS boss are expected to be handed up to higher court, her barrister has revealed.
Candice Dover, who did not appear in person in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Thursday, is charged with eight counts of obtaining financial advantage by deception.
Ms Dover is yet to enter any pleas.
Her barrister Lachlan Ygoa-McKeown told the court the case was currently part-heard and there had previously been a cross-examination of witnesses.
“There has been some further disclosure, there is some small outstanding disclosure that I understand from speaking with the crown is due around July 25,” Mr Ygoa-McKeown said.
During the hearing held on May 1, 2025, three witnesses were cross-examined including a former employee of Ms Dover who reported her to the NDIS fraud department.
The court heard on that date Ms Dover was accused of over-claiming funds from the NDIS in her capacity as the director of a company, which provided care services on the Sunshine Coast.
“It is proposed that the matter should be able to proceed as the remainder of the full hand-up committal before Magistrate Madsen on the next occasion,” Mr Ygoa-McKeown said.
“It is anticipated that a prima facie case will be conceded, and it will then be committed up, the only hesitation is to just review that final disclosure, while the nature of it seems to be that it won’t warrant anything further.”
Mr Ygoa-McKeown told the court his client was currently on bail and living in Tasmania.
Commonwealth prosecutor Vanessa Lyons told the court Ms Dover would likely need to sign new bail document once the charges were committed.
The case was adjourned to the Maroochydore Magistrates Court for Monday, September 8.
