A local couple has opened their third hairdressing salon on the Sunshine Coast in a year – saying there’s an ever growing need for it.
Husband and wife duo, Anthony and Emma Belcher, are opening their third Just Cuts salon on Thursday, June 27 and it’s a first-of-its-kind design for the state.
The store will be opposite Surf Dive ‘n’ Ski in Stockland Birtinya, and the salon will be offering free haircuts to their first 30 clients on opening day and $25 style cuts to celebrate their first six weeks in business.
Mr and Mrs Belcher also own successful salons Just Cuts Kawana and Sunshine Plaza.
“I see it as a retail renaissance here on the Sunshine Coast – the demand here for great value style cuts is unbelievable, like hair, it just hasn’t stopped growing,” Mr Belcher said.
“Just Cuts salons are perfect for all the people who don’t like paying $90 for a haircut and waiting for hours, or for women who just want a cut and will do the colour at home.
“The Just Cuts concept hasn’t dated because you can’t get your haircut online, and it’s continued to evolve with innovations like the Just Cuts app so people can check in to the salon from home.
“It’s the vibe you get walking into our salons that no one else can replicate. They’re bright and modern, and our stylists are busy and energetic. You feel welcome, and you feel comfortable.”
Mr and Mrs Belcher employ 25 stylists on the Sunshine Coast and look forward to welcoming new clients.
“The new Just Cuts salon design is suited to the next generation of clients. I’m looking forward to our new tan styling chairs, which add a real sense of warmth and are a departure from the traditional black hairdresser chair — they are our disrupter chairs, and our clients will love them,” Mr Belcher said.
“Our brand promise is no appointments, just walk in, and the new design communicates that at an architectural level with seating outside the salon to bring more foot traffic in.”
Local Stylist Leisa Tunny will lead the team and has worked in Just Cuts salons for 14 years.
Ms Tunny said local styles are quite diverse in the cool weather.
“On the Sunshine Coast currently mullets are still the winner for men, and women are opting for shorter, shoulder-length hair this winter — even if they have long hair,” she said.
“Low, mid and high fades are also a major trend at the moment for the men, even in the colder months.”
Just Cuts Birtinya will employ eight fully qualified stylists and will be open seven days.
