HE'S RUN out for rugby league World Cup finals, State of Origin clashes and countless Broncos matches, but Allan "Alfie" Langer admitted to nerves yesterday.

His 20-year-old daughter Maddison was married to Justin Cassar, 22, and the halfback legend said he was nervous before the Dicky Beach ceremony.

"Maddison looked stunning, though, and we've had perfect Sunshine Coast weather for the day," he said.

The beach ceremony was conducted by family friend and Sunshine Coast celebrant Karen Faa, who was overseeing her 1000th ceremony.

Ms Faa had predicted before the wedding that Alfie would shed a tear on his second daughter's big day, but it wasn't to be.

"No, there were no tears today," the hard-as-nails dad said, wearing a grin from ear to ear.

Maddison was wearing a version of the gown her mother Janine wore at her wedding to the sporting legend more than 20 years ago.
