Queensland’s top AFL talent competes for the ultimate bragging rights as the livestreamed competition of the AFLQ Schools Cup state finals begin. WATCH ALL THE REPLAYS!

AFL Queensland’s largest schools competition is about to begin as more than 20 teams across 43 matches play for the right to call themselves the 2021 AFLQ School Cup champions.

The states best primary, junior and secondary school talent will descend on the Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex to compete for the ultimate bragging rights from Friday to Sunday.

All games from field one, two and three at the Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex will be live streamed along with a post match summary.

Mooloolaba State School will hope to defend their 2020 premiership in the primary female division while competition heavyweights Palm Beach Currumbin, who took out all four secondary divisions last year, will look to prove their worth once again.

11:30am Oval 2 – Primary Female Pool – Toowoomba East SS v Holland Park SS 1-1

The weather cleared and the day got off to a good start with a tightly contested match between Toowoomba East SS V Holland Park SS.

Majority of the game was played in the middle of the field with defence coming out on top as the match finished in a draw.

In the other match on Oval 5 in the Primary Female division Mooloolaba SS finished convincing winners with a scoreline of 30-1 over Marymount Primary.

12:00pm Oval 2 – Primary Male Pool A – Villanova def Stella Maris 30-19

A good battle between two good sides saw the Stella Maris holding a one-point lead 6-5 at halftime.

It was a very back and forth match with game changing goals from Byron Dent and Harrison Rizio (Villanova) while Stella Maris’s Jake Fink kept his team in the contest with a goal of his own.

The second half was a goal scoring affair from both teams but ultimately saw Villanova come away with the victory 4.6.30 to 3.1.19.

12:30pm Oval 2 – Primary Male Pool B – St Thomas More def Belmont SS 49-1

St Thomas More were able to keep their good form alive with a strong start to the first half leading 24-1.

Early goals for Cooper Maloney, Walter Currie and an overall impressive performance from Cooper Mackay proved vital for the boys in red.

The final siren sounded with St Thomas More coming off convincing winners 49-1.

1:00pm Oval 2 – Primary Female Pool – Holland Park SS def Hermit Park SS 16-0

An early goal from Holland Park’s Emma Fingland got the girls off to a good start as the teams went into the halftime break 10.0.

The strong wind proved vital for Holland Park in the second half as they came away with the win 16-0.

In the other match on Oval 5 in the Primary Female division Mooloolaba SS came away with the win and a scoreline of 20-12 over Toowoomba East SS.

1:30pm Oval 2 – Primary Male Pool A – Stella Maris def by Marymount Primary 20-14.

Stella Maris continued to put their opponents to the test by using the space and speed of the game to their advantage.

Goals from Zane Penn and Miles Davies helped Stella Maris head into the halftime break leading 14-0.

A halftime speech for the ages influenced Marymount to a top tier fightback by holding their opponent scoreless in the second half.

Major scores from Billy Hamilton and two from Cameron Camenzind helped Marymount to a 20-14 come from behind victory.

2:00pm Oval 2 – Primary Male Pool B – Whitfield SS V St Thomas More 39-6

Whitfield were able to match it with St Thomas More and big performances from Xavier Salvana and Leo-Jay Lui helped Whitfield enter into the halftime break leading.

Whitefield’s solid field positioning and ball movement helped them continue on in the second half as the match ended 39-6.

1:30pm Oval 1 – Junior Female Preliminary Final 1 – Palm Beach Currumbin SHS def Marymount College 62-25.

Competition heavyweights Palm Beach Currumbin were able to get off to a great start in the first half but Marymount weren‘t about to roll over and admit defeat.

Two goals from Avera Ush and one from Alana Walsh helped Currumbin early before a small fightback for Marymount’s Isabella Brown and Rahni Kerr finished the first half 25-12.

A much more open and expansive brand of footy in the second half saw Palm Beach Currumbin hold the majority of the ball and kick away to a six goal lead.

With Marymount unable to find a way out of their own half and top performances from Alice Channing and Mia Salsbury, Palm Beach Currumbin came away winners 9.8.62-4.1.25.


1:30pm Oval 3 – Junior Female Preliminary Final 2 – Varsity College def The Cathedral College 50-2

Varsity got out in front early to hold their opponents scoreless in the first quarter leading 16-0 and carried that on in the second quarter as they went into the half winning by 30 points.

Varsity were able to keep their opponents at a considerable distance with the match ending 5.20.50-0.2.2.

2:30pm Oval 2 – Primary Female Pool – Hermit Park SS defeated by Marymount Primary 27-2

A very tightly contested first half saw nothing separate the two sides with neither able to find any clear running room.

Marymount were able to find some footy and find the front with solid performances from Eve Severnak, Issy Stewart and Millie Sankey proving to be the difference.

The match ended 4.3.27-0.2.2.

In the other match on Oval 5 in the Primary Female division had Mooloolaba SS defeating Holland Park SS 0.3.3-0.0.0.

3:00pm Oval 2 - Primary Male Pool A Villanova def by Marymount Primary 27-19.

Villanova were able to use their limited possession to their advantage in the first half as they went into the break leading 13-7.

Once again Marymount kicked back after halftime with strong performances from Billy Hamilton and Jasper Smith helping them to a 27-19 win.

3:30pm Oval 2 - Primary Male Pool B Whitfield SS def Belmont SS 42-0

Whitfield were able to continue their dominating performances as they opened the scoring early and didn't look like slowing down.

Whitfield were able to play the majority of the first half in their half as they went into the break leading 14-0.

Whitfield‘s leading midfield continued the charge in the second half with the team coming away 42-0 winners.

3:00pm Oval 1 - Junior Male Preliminary Final 1 - Palm Beach Currumbin SHS def Padua College 8.7.55-6.9.45.

A heavyweight matchup with plenty of eyes on the final result saw the two teams play an aggressive brand of footy in the opening quarter.

Palm Beach Currumbin were able to kick a costly goal before the end of the first quarter as they lead 2.2.14-1.1.7.

Padua kicked back early in the second quarter but Palm Beach Currumbin stuck in the contest for the scores to be 4.3.27-5.5.35 at the halftime break.

A back and forth third quarter resulted with both teams being separated by only 11 points as Padua led 6.8.44-5.5.35.

Palm Beach Currumbin’s midfield had an uphill battle on their hands but fought on well to find a four point lead with 10 minutes remaining.

With two minutes left on the clock Palm Beach Currumbin sealed the win as the match finished 8.7.55-6.9.45.


3:00pm Oval 3 - Senior Female Preliminary Final 1 - Palm Beach Currumbin SHS def Kedron SHS 57-6

Palm Beach Currumbin took on Kedron in a tightly contested matchup with neither team unable to find control of the game early.

With Palm Beach Currumbin getting their hands on the footy and controlling the pace of the game in the second quarter they went into the halftime break leading 30-6.

Palm Beach Currumbin led 43-6 at the end of the third and were able to finish the game convincing winners with a scoreline of 57-6.

4:00pm Oval 2 - Primary Female Pool - Toowoomba East SS def by Hermit Park SS 11-8.

Toowoomba were able to find themselves inside their forward 50 for most of the first half but were unable to capitalize as the score was 3-0 at half time.

A solid turnaround from Hermit Park SS and strong individual performances from Addison Davey and Abbie Rose saw them come away with a 11-8 victory.

In the other match on Oval 5 in the Primary Female division Holland Park SS defeated Marymount Primary 14-0.


4:30pm Oval 2 - Primary Male Qualifier - Villanova def Belmont 43-0.

Villanova kicked away in the opening half to get out to a convincing 24 point lead.

The goal scoring affair did not end there with a great overall Villanova team performance helping them cruise to a 43-0 victory.

4:30pm Oval 1 - Senior Male Preliminary Final 2 - Helensvale SHS def St Augustine‘s College 130-0

Helensvale showed no mercy to their opposition in the opening quarter as they kicked the opening five major scores.

After Helensvale led 6.4.40-0.0.0 at the end of the first quarter they continued on in the second quarter to a score differential of 79 points.

The onslaught continued in the third quarter as Helensvale went into the final term leading 105-0.

The final siren eventually sounded for Helensvale to be crowned 20.10.130-0.0.0 winners.


4:30pm Oval 3 - Senior Female Preliminary Final 2 - Varsity College def St Andrews CC 101-3

Varsity were able to control the majority of the play in the opening quarter as they kicked out to a 28 point lead.

Keeping control of the footy and barely allowing St Andrews CC in their own half they were able to head into halftime leading 69-1.

Varsity went on to dominate the match winning 101-3.

5:00pm Oval 2 - Primary Male Qualifier - St Thomas More V Stella Maris

In a battle of the worst jersey matchup possible the Sunshine Coast rivalry of St Thomas More and Stella Maris took centre stage.

Stella Maris were able to find the ball early, kicking two goals that helped them go into the halftime break 13-2.

Influential performances from Max Holden and Archie Wilson helped steer Stella Maris to a 23-2 victory.

5:30pm Oval 2 - Primary Female Pool - Hermit Park SS def by Mooloolaba SS 42-0.

Defending 2020 champions Mooloolaba SS met Hermit Park SS in the final primary female match of the day.

Mooloolaba got off to a good start getting out to a 16-0 lead at halftime.

A great performance from Mooloolba’s captain Millie Murray and Millie Pearson proved why they are ones to watch heading into tomorrow's finals as they came away with a 42-0 win.

In the other match on Oval 5 in the Primary Female division Toowoomba East SS defeated Marymount Primary 18-16.

6:00pm Oval 2 - Primary Male Semi Final - Whitfield def by Villanova 15-6

In a hotly contested semi final Whitfield who had only conceded two goals the entire year came up against an in-form Villanova outfit.

Whitfield were able to open the scoring but Villanova hit back with two goals of their own to hold a 7 point lead at halftime.

A close encounter saw Villanova’s Keidis Lyons and Jacob Short help guide their team to 15-6 victory.

6:00pm Oval 1 - Senior Male Preliminary Final 1 - Palm Beach Currumbin SHS def St Laurence‘s College 52-14.

A slow attacking start from both teams had defenses on top as Currumbin went into the quarter time break leading 0.4.4-0.0.0

Palm Beach retained control of the footy in the second term kicking 3.8.26 to St Laurence’s 0.3.3.

St Laurence’s weren't able to deliver on their chances kicking only one major score and eight behinds for the game.

The final score was 7.10.52-1.8.14.


6:00pm Oval 3 - Junior Male Preliminary Final 2 - Ambrose Treacy College def St Augustine‘s College 55-30.

An extremely physical contest saw St Augustine head into the quarter time break leading 13-7.

St Augustine were able to kick on further in the second term but Ambrose hit back late for a six point difference heading into the half.

Ambrose kept on the front foot to start the third quarter and were able to get out to a 36-28 lead heading.

St Augustine’s were no match for Ambrose Treacy College as they won 55-30.


6:30pm Oval 2 - Primary Male Semi Final - Marymount def Stella Maris 26-18

Both teams were able to open the game in quick fashion kicking majors in the opening five minutes.

Marymount were then able to play possession footy and kick away in the final stages of the first half to lead 18-6.

Top performances from Levi Carrol and Darcy Spilsted helped Marymount keep their opponents at bay to progress to the grand final with a 26-18 win.
