Mr Collins asked for an adjournment as there was a “significant” amount of material to review after police handed over the brief of evidence.

It has been previously alleged by police Mr Lingard had targeted young children since August, 2023 and groomed a relationship with two girls with arrangements to meet them.

Court documents also showed Mr Lingard was charged over a particular incident when he allegedly took a girl at Bundaberg in January and raped her twice and procured her to commit an indecent act.

He allegedly took another child for the purpose of indecent treatment between December 29 and January 2, 2024 and used a social media to meet a girl under 16 to “send nudes and fix their relationship.”

Mr Lingard’s most recent offence involved a young girl who he allegedly took to his Kulangoor home and then raped after he met and organised to meet her on an online platform.

Magistrate Matthew McLaughlin adjourned the matter to July 19.
