SINGER and songwriter Mayah Clarke is excitingly awaiting the release of a new music video for her hit song Endless Mistakes.
WITH 437,000 streams on Spotify, Clarke said she was surprised with the song’s success.
It prompted her to create the upcoming music video.
“It’s done really well, a lot better than I thought it would have for a first song so I’m very happy with that,” she said.
“Because Endless Mistakes is doing so well, we wanted to put a music video with it and it’s going to go on YouTube on Boxing Day for everyone to see.”
Released in May, the artist’s first song highlights the mistakes that are made throughout childhood.
They will be included in the music video.
“It’s got a bit of humour for sure and a lot of silliness it’s basically a music video to show all of the mistakes that happen and the silly things that happen throughout childhood,” she said.
“And a bit of my background, what it was like when I was growing up and it relates to the song because it’s endless mistakes and showing all the silly things you do as a child and just a bit of fun.
“I’m excited I think it’s a blast, it’s a lot of fun and I really enjoy watching it every time because it really shows the true sides of who I am as a person and it’s authentic, really down to earth and it’s really relatable.”
The recent St John’s College graduate said finishing school would allow her to follow her dreams.
“Ever since I was little, I’ve only had one dream, to become a recording artist performer signing songwriter I’ve dedicated my whole 18 years to becoming a performing artist,” she said.
“This year it’s been really hard because of school, I’m very dedicated to my studies so I spent a lot of time studying but now I’m out of school I’m going to be doing a lot more performances across the coast this year.”
Clarke’s manager and mother Karen Clarke said she had loved supporting her daughter personally and professionally.
“As a mother I have watched her emerge … there is a lot of joy in it for me because she is quite an extraordinarily talented but also determined, hardworking and dedicated human being so any of the success she has experienced I know is a result of hard work and natural talent,” she said.
Using a piano and a guitar to create her music, Clarke has been recording her second song Butterflies The Rush in Side with Peter Koppes in Coolum.
“I’m recording my second song now and we’ve been in the studio four sessions now and we are getting close to finishing that and it will be coming out at the beginning of next year,” she said.
