$33 MILLION SUCCESS: Coast builder makes BRW Fast 100

SPURRED on by a major housing development, one Coast building firm has cemented itself as one of the nation's fastest growing companies.

Devcon Building Co has been named in the BRW Fast 100 list for the second year running.

The builders with display homes at Palmview (Harmony estate) were named at 30th on the 2016 list and have risen significantly in the past 12 months.

Devcon was listed at 13th in the 2017 list, on the back of $33.06 million in revenue in the 2016-17 financial year, translating to 99.5% growth for the company.

The 2016 Fast 100 list had Devcon's revenue at $32.75 million.

The company was established in 1993 and managing director Michael Kain praised the dedication of his team.

"Last year's result was exciting. This year's is even better. To come in at 13th really shows how motivated and dedicated everyone in the team is to delivering outstanding results for our customers," he said.

The local firm built more than 100 homes in the region over the past 12 months and started a number of new townhouse developments.

The firm's first Sunshine Coast display homes open in Harmony next week and has a number of villas in Buderim and Emerald.

"It's been a really big year in terms of projects and builds for us, to rank again and higher on the list is a good recognition of our achievements over the past few years," Mr Kain said.
