A Brisbane developer has pitched its third project for a Sunshine Coast suburb that would provide homes for more than 20 families.

Project Urban lodged a development application on behalf of Kings Beach Sands Pty Ltd for a 23-unit apartment complex at 19 and 21 Verney St, Kings Beach.

The company is spearheaded by Troy Barnes and Matthew Bond from the Brisbane-based Citimax Property Group.

Mr Barnes said the complex would consist of three- and four-bedroom apartments intended to accommodate young families, downsizers and holiday makers.

Floor plans included in the application showed the apartments would range between 103 and 174sq m.

Each apartment would open to a large balcony and apartment residents would also enjoy a gym, pool, barbecue and seating area in the complex, Mr Barnes said.

Two car parks are allocated for each apartment.

Mr Barnes said the project drew inspiration from the surrounding coast for its contemporary design using soft, light colours and materials.

If approved, Mr Barnes is expecting to start construction in early 2025.

The 1416sq m site, which is currently occupied by two houses, is within a high-density residential zone.

The application stated the building would reach a height of 21m.

The set of 23 apartments would be across six storeys, with the ground floor and basement level reserved for parking.

Each balcony would range from 7sq m to as large as 80.8sq m, all which connect to the apartment living areas.

Mr Barnes said the complex on Verney St would be their third project at Kings Beach.

These projects include Ocean Verge consisting of 40 completed boutique apartments and Ascend Kings Beach, which is 24 apartments under construction.

“With limited development sites available on the Sunshine Coast, we’re glad we can help deliver much-needed supply to the region,” he said.
