220-plus Coast homes open for inspection this week

Check out this weekend's Sunshine Coast homes open for inspection.

THIS property has intrigued me for many years but knew I would get there one day.

Last Saturday I drove up almost 500m of sealed and concrete driveway that winds up to one of the most exceptional locations - two thirds of the way up Mt Cooroy and with glorious north-easterly views to the ocean towards Teewah.

From this spectacular home you are looking over some great country. And it includes two self-contained studios or villas each comprising bedroom, living, kitchen and bathroom as well as balconies.

Being high on the mountain side you have natural bushland as a backdrop and minimal grassed area along the drive to look after. A shed and dam are the other improvements.

Yet the house is the star - an entry level for the main living areas, two steps up for the bedroom wing and the main bedroom suite on the top floor.

An infinity-edge pool below the front balcony comes with a waterfall edge and poolside pavilion.

Some 6m of timber framed bi-fold doors in a shallow semi circle open from the main living area that comes with immaculate timber flooring, soaring ceilings, clerestory windows and fireplace.

There is a pivot entry door, powder room then floor-to-ceiling, butt-jointed windows that curve with the entry and look straight out to a water feature.

This flows through the house, with a glass bridge dividing the living areas from the kitchen and dining.

The raised kitchen features travertine tiled floors, a timber servery and granite benchtops along with Miele appliances. A waterfall splashes down the rock outcrop of the mountain.

Another hallway curves around and two steps take you up to a retreat/living area then a terracotta-tiled laundry with horizontal window outlook. As well as high ceilings there are high timber doors.

The main bathroom comes with twin wash basins recessed into a marble vanity top, a bath set in travertine surrounds and a step-in shower. The two bedrooms share a front balcony.

Timber stairs curve around and lead up to the main retreat. It's above the clouds ... between earth and sky.

A large bedroom with split system air-conditioning - magnificent views from here and the balcony.

The ensuite, again with twin wash basins, has floating timber cabinetry on the vanity.

An oval spa bath takes advantage of the northerly outlook while the shower comes with a picture window to the bushland. It has rainforest plus adjustable shower heads.

There are double garages on the ground floor of both studios.

What more could you want? And all on Noosa's doorstep.
